From October to March the Royal Alcázar opens daily from 9:30 to 17:00, and from April to September from 9:30 to 19:00. A standard ticket costs €15.50, and the reliable way to avoid queuing is to buy it on the official website with a set date and time.

The Royal Alcázar Trust sets two timetables a year, and staff start clearing the site 45 minutes after closing time.

Ticket prices

Ticket Price

Upper Royal Quarters (supplement) €5.50
Reduced: over 65, students aged 14 to 30 and European Youth Card holders aged 14 to 30 €8

The reduced rate is no longer limited to EU citizens: any visitor who shows proof at the entrance qualifies.

The standard ticket includes other city museums: the Antiquarium, Casa Fabiola (Bellver Museum) and the Triana Ceramics Museum, on the same day or the next.

Tickets carry your name (ID or passport required) and cannot be changed or refunded.

Who gets in free

According to the official website, these visitors do not pay, although they still need a free ticket:

  • People born in or living in the city of Seville, with compulsory booking and ID, passport or a census certificate from the last three months.
  • Children up to 13, with an adult.
  • People with a disability of 33% or more and their companion. Tickets are collected at the ticket office, subject to availability.
  • Unemployed residents of the province of Seville with a valid card.
  • ICOMOS members.

The official shop also lists a Free Monday ticket that must be booked and was sold out on 12 October 2026. The official website does not publish the time of that slot, so we do not give it here: check the shop a few days before.

How to skip the queues

  • Buy on the official website (alcazardesevilla.infoticketing.com, linked from alcazarsevilla.org). There are no waiting lists or ticket releases.
  • If it is sold out online, the ticket office in the Patio de Banderas opens at 9:00 with a very small allocation per slot, for that day and the standard visit only. Each person buys their own, with ID and a card. On busy days they advise arriving an hour early.
  • Leave a margin: your slot cannot be changed.
  • No food or drinks: only water is allowed.

The Upper Royal Quarters

These are the upper floor rooms of King Peter's Palace, visited separately in organised groups. You buy them as a combined Royal Alcázar + Upper Royal Quarters ticket. The time on your ticket is when you enter that floor, so you must go through the Lion Gate up to 60 minutes earlier for the security check. There is no same-day ticket office allocation.

Night tours

The 2026 Theatrical Night Tours recreate the wedding of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal, held at the Alcázar in 1526. They last 75 minutes, cover the palaces and gardens, are in Spanish and are for ages 8 and up.

  • When: Thursdays and Fridays until the end of October 2026, starting at 21:00, 21:30, 22:00 and 22:30.
  • Price: €15.
  • Availability: they showed as sold out in the official shop on 12 October. The 2027 edition has not been announced yet.

What to see and how long you need

Allow two to three hours for the palaces and gardens at a relaxed pace, and half an hour more with the Upper Royal Quarters. The essentials:

  • Mudéjar Palace of Peter I, with the Courtyard of the Maidens and the Courtyard of the Dolls.
  • Gothic Palace of Alfonso X, with the Tile Hall (Salón de los Azulejos).
  • Admiral's Quarters, with the altarpiece of the Virgin of the Navigators.
  • Palace of Plaster (Palacio del Yeso) and Hall of Justice.
  • The gardens, with the Mercury pond and the Grotto gallery.

The official audio guide opens on your phone from a QR code or from the Alcázar website, where you can also download the map.

Combining it with the Cathedral and the Giralda

The Cathedral is right opposite, across Plaza del Triunfo. Official data from Seville Cathedral:

Cathedral and Giralda Hours and price
Monday to Saturday 10:45 to 19:00 (ticket office until 18:00)
Sundays 14:30 to 19:00 (ticket office until 18:00)
Standard €13 online, €14 at the ticket office
Reduced €7 online, €8 at the ticket office
Free public visit Sundays (not holidays) 16:30 to 18:00, limited capacity

The visit takes about 75 minutes, starts with the Giralda and includes the Church of El Salvador. A good winter plan: the Alcázar at 9:30, lunch in Santa Cruz and the Cathedral in the afternoon.
