Christmas in Seville 2026: a practical guide

When do Seville's Christmas lights come on in 2026?

2026 date: not announced. The city has, however, run the second edition of a school contest in which it picks three designs by children aged 10 to 16 to turn into light displays (Viva Sevilla).

2025 for reference:

• Switch-on: Saturday 29 November (Sevilla Secreta).
• Hours: 18:30 to midnight, and until 01:00 on special dates (Sevilla Secreta), which local guides list as 24 and 31 December and 5 January (Comiviajeros).

Best streets for lights and light shows

In 2025 the highlight was Avenida de la Constitución, lined with 32 giant illuminated trees, leading to Plaza de San Francisco, where huge light wings were unveiled (Sevilla Secreta). Also:

• Nativity scenes in lights on Reyes Católicos, San Pablo and Hernando Colón.
• Angels on Ronda de Capuchinos, Muñoz León, Menéndez Pelayo, Recaredo and María Auxiliadora.
• A large golden nativity scene on Avenida de Roma, opposite San Telmo.

Suggested walk: Puerta de Jerez, Constitución, San Francisco, Sierpes and Tetuán. These streets, along with Campana, Laraña and Plaza del Salvador, have had exclusive light designs for years (2019 tender).

Navigalia, the projection show on the Guadalquivir, ran in 2025 from the Muelle de la Sal between 18 December and 4 January (no shows on 24, 25, 31 and 1), with five shows between 18:45 and 22:25. It lasted 18 minutes and a grandstand seat cost €2 (Sevilla Secreta). The 2026 edition has not been announced.

Christmas markets

2025-2026 dates for reference (Seville Traveller):

• Nativity fair: figures and accessories between the Cathedral and the Archivo de Indias. Weekdays 10:30 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00; weekends 11:00 to 14:30 and 16:00 to 21:00.
• Convent sweets: in 2025, sold in the Alcázar's Gothic Palace from 5 to 8 December.

2026 dates are not out, and the nativity fair usually opens in early November.

Nativity scenes: City Hall, brotherhoods and more

2026 opening hours are unknown; most scenes open between late November and early December (Comiviajeros).

• City Hall nativity: set up in the Arquillo del Ayuntamiento, next to Plaza Nueva.
• Brotherhoods: the best known are at the Basílica de los Gitanos, the Iglesia del Salvador and the Hospital de la Caridad, home of the Hermandad de la Santa Caridad.
• Andalusian Parliament: in 2025 it showed a monumental scene by Seville's nativity association for the first time (Sevilla Secreta).
• Others: Fundación Cajasol, Círculo Mercantil and Torre Sevilla.

New Year's Eve in Seville

We have not found an official City Council countdown in recent years, and nothing has been announced for 2026. If one is organised, we will add it. In 2025 the street lights stayed on until 01:00 that night.

Three Kings Parade 2027: date, time and route

The Ateneo de Sevilla has run the parade since 1918 on the afternoon of 5 January, a Tuesday in 2027. The Ateneo has presented its 2027 royal party (Ateneo), but the 2027 time and route are not published.

2026 for reference:

• Start at 16:15 from the University (calle Palos de la Frontera), Plaza de Cuba around 20:15 and finish around 22:00 (OKDiario).
• Official route: Palos de la Frontera, San Diego, Avenida del Cid, Menéndez y Pelayo, Recaredo, María Auxiliadora, Ronda de Capuchinos, Resolana, Feria, Correduría, Trajano, Plaza del Duque, Campana, O'Donnell, Magdalena, San Pablo, Reyes Católicos, Isabel II bridge, San Jacinto, República Argentina, Plaza de Cuba, Asunción, Los Remedios bridge, Paseo de las Delicias, Avenida de Roma and back to Palos de la Frontera (Ateneo).
• A quiet stretch for autistic people between Marineros Voluntarios and San Telmo, and a reduced-mobility area on Palos de la Frontera (Ateneo).
• Royal Herald: on 4 January he left calle Orfila at 17:00 to collect the keys of the city at City Hall.

Practical tips

• Shops: in Seville city they may open on 29 November and on 7, 8, 13, 20 and 27 December 2026 (BOJA 4 June 2026; Ministry of Trade). 25 December and 1 January are not authorised opening days.
• Traffic on 5 January: in 2026 roads closed progressively around El Prado, Menéndez Pelayo, the Ronda Histórica and the approaches to Triana and Los Remedios, with the Isabel II and Los Remedios bridges shut as the parade passed (OKDiario).
• Getting around: walk the centre; for the parade and New Year's Eve, check special Tussam bus and Metro de Sevilla services.
• Crowds: the nativity fair is packed on Saturday afternoons; go in the morning.
