Is there an All Saints' long weekend in Valencia in 2026?

No. In 2026, 1 November falls on a Sunday and the Valencia region has not moved the holiday: in its 2026 calendar, Monday 2 November is a working day (BOE). In Madrid and Andalusia, however, Monday 2 is a public holiday, so you may see more visitors that weekend.

The dates that matter:

  • Friday 30 October: pumpkin festival in Benimàmet.
  • Saturday 31 October: Halloween.
  • Sunday 1 November: All Saints' Day.

Saints' bones, fritters and panellets

In Valencia the real treats come on 1 November, from the city's bakeries (Visit València):

  • Huesos de santo ("saints' bones"): marzipan rolls with candied egg yolk.
  • Buñuelos: fried dough balls filled with custard or pumpkin and dusted with sugar.
  • Panellets: made with ground almonds, sugar and pine nuts.

Any neighbourhood bakery (horno) sells them around these dates.

All Saints' Day: cemetery hours and buses

From 17 October to 2 November 2026, the city cemeteries open from 9:00 to 18:00 without a break (València City Council).

For the Cementerio General, the council's 2026 notice provides extra buses on EMT lines 9, 10, 18, 59 and 99 from Saturday 24 October, a special service from Calle Periodista Azzati to the main gate and another linking the Cabanyal cemetery with Malva-rosa and Cabanyal. There are road and parking restrictions around the Cementerio General until 2 November, so public transport is the better option (València City Council, All Saints' 2026 notice).

What opens on Sunday 1 and Monday 2 November

  • Sunday 1: each museum, sight and shop keeps its own Sunday hours; check its website.
  • Monday 2: a working day in Valencia, so shops and services open as normal. If you are heading to a museum, check first whether it closes on Mondays.
  • City of Arts and Sciences: hours vary by day and building; check the calendar on its website before you go (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències). Oceanogràfic tickets are also sold on Tiqets.
  • Free hours through the week are on our free museums in Valencia page.

More ideas for those days
