As of 20 October 2026, Valencia City Council has not yet published the time or route of the 2027 parade, which will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 5 January. What is the Three Kings Parade?

In Spain, Christmas presents are brought by the Three Kings (the Three Wise Men) on the night of 5 to 6 January, and that afternoon Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar parade through the city on floats, throwing sweets to the children. It is a free family celebration and the last big event of the Christmas season.

In Valencian it is called the Cavalcada dels Reis Mags, the name used on the Valencian-language pages of the City Council and Visit València; in Spanish the council calls it the Cabalgata de Reyes. It is the same parade.

When is the Valencia Three Kings Parade in 2027?

It will be on the afternoon of Tuesday 5 January 2027. The time and route have not been published yet: in 2026 the council announced them on 3 January, two days before. We will update this guide then.

How it went in 2026 (Valencia City Council):

  • 16:30: the Kings arrive by boat at La Marina and head for Plaza de la Sal, in Marina Norte, where there were stands to watch them come ashore.
  • 17:30: the parade sets off from Puente de las Flores.
  • Finale: in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, with the Adoration of the Child, a fireworks show and the Kings greeting the crowd from the City Hall balcony.

The council did not publish a finishing time. As a guide, the 2025 parade was announced from 17:30 to 20:00 (City Council) and the 2024 one from 17:30 to 21:30 (City Council).

The Kings' arrival by boat at La Marina

In Valencia the Kings arrive by sea, as tradition has it. In 2026 they came ashore at 16:30 in Plaza de la Sal (Marina Norte), a new and larger space than the one used in 2025, Plaza del Agua, chosen so more people could fit in. There were stands to watch the boat (City Council).

From La Marina, the Kings travel to the parade's starting point on Paseo de la Alameda. If you want to see both, bear in mind there is only an hour between the landing and the start, and that La Marina is a long way from Puente de las Flores, at the far end of Paseo de la Alameda: in practice, pick one.

The parade route, street by street

The 2027 route is still to be confirmed. The 2026 route, according to the council (note of 3-1-2026):

  1. Puente de las Flores (start, on Paseo de la Alameda).
  2. Porta de la Mar.
  3. Calle del General Tovar.
  4. Calle de la Pau.
  5. Plaza de la Reina.
  6. Calle de San Vicente Mártir.
  7. Plaza del Ayuntamiento (finish).

The parade page on Visit València, the city's tourism website, also lists the stretches linking those points: Navarro Reverter between the bridge and Porta de la Mar, and General Palanca before General Tovar (Visit València). It is the same route as in 2025, which left Paseo de la Alameda via Plaza América, Navarro Reverter, Porta de la Mar, General Palanca, Plaza de Tetuán, General Tovar, de la Pau, Plaza de la Reina and San Vicente Mártir (City Council).

No times are published for each stretch. The closer you are to the start, the sooner it passes: Navarro Reverter and Porta de la Mar see the parade first, Plaza del Ayuntamiento last.

The finale in Plaza del Ayuntamiento

In 2026 (City Council):

  • The Adoration of the Child took place on a raised stage in front of the City Hall door, with music and a fireworks show from the roof.
  • The Kings climbed up to the main balcony on a fire engine, as is tradition, and gave their message to the children from there.
  • They then received children in the City Hall's Salón de Cristal, with a small gift.
  • Giant screens in the square showed drone footage of the parade, and the broadcast was adapted into sign language.

This is the most crowded moment. With small children, you will see the parade better on a middle stretch than in the square.

Where to watch: chairs, crossings and reserved areas

  • Chairs: in 2026 there were 2,500 chairs at 4 euros each (City Council), placed from Navarro Reverter to the entrance of Plaza del Ayuntamiento. They cannot be booked online: accredited staff rent them out on the street from 12:30 (Visit València).
  • Reduced mobility: three reserved areas, one at Porta de la Mar (entry from Calle Grabador Esteve or Calle Colón) and two in Plaza del Ayuntamiento (entry from Calle de la Sangre, and opposite the main facade with entry from Barcas or Correos) (Visit València).
  • Calm stretch: on Calle de la Pau there is a "Tramo de Calma" with no music or fireworks, for people sensitive to noise, such as autistic people (Visit València, easy-read guide).
  • Pedestrian crossings: to cross the route while the parade is on, there are three crossings: Calle de la Pau at Plaza Alfonso el Magnánimo, Calle de la Pau at Plaza de la Reina, and San Vicente at Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Visit València).

Without a chair, the wide streets near the start (Navarro Reverter, Porta de la Mar) give you more room than Calle de la Pau or San Vicente, which are narrow.

Road closures and parking

The 2027 closures will be published with the parade announcement. In 2026 (City Council):

  • No parking on Paseo de la Alameda between the Exposición and Flores bridges from 22:00 on 3 January, and between the Flores and Aragón bridges from the 4th, to line up the floats, until 23:59 on the 5th.
  • On the 5th, closures on Calle de San Pablo and Plaza de San Agustín from 15:00 to 23:59, on the Alameda between the Flores and Real bridges from 15:15, and at the entrances to the centre via Plaza de Tetuán, Paseo de la Ciudadela, Navarro Reverter and Marqués de Sotelo. From 19:00, closures of the Blanquerías and Paseo de la Petxina underpasses depending on traffic.
  • The Plaza de la Reina car park was closed from 18:00 to 20:00.
  • Pedestrian access in front of City Hall was restricted from the 4th to set up the stands.

Do not come by car: the centre is closed off all afternoon.

Getting there: metro and bus

  • Metro: the closest stations to the route are Colón, a few minutes from Porta de la Mar, and Xàtiva, next to Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Both are on lines 3 and 5, the ones that serve the airport (Aena). For the airport journey, see our airport to city centre guide.
  • Bus (EMT): in 2025 the EMT reinforced 33 lines and diverted them from 17:30, ending at points close to the parade such as the Germanías and Marqués del Turia boulevards, Paseo de la Alameda, Plaza Zaragoza, Plaza de España and Xàtiva (City Council). The diversions lasted until about 22:00 (EMT València, 2025 diversions). The 2026 note gave no EMT details: check the service status page on the day.

Tips: children, sweets and rain

  • Arrive early. Visit València recommends coming early, ideally by public transport, to get a good view (Visit València).
  • Sweets: in 2026 the parade threw four tonnes of gluten-free sweets and 3,000 soft toys, and light sticks and paper crowns were handed out before and during the parade (City Council). A bag, or an umbrella held upside down, helps you catch them.
  • With children: agree on a meeting point away from the route in case you get separated, and do not stand by the barriers at the pedestrian crossings, where people pass through.
  • Rain: the council does not publish a wet-weather plan. If the forecast looks bad, check its website or social media that afternoon.
  • Kings' Night: children leave their shoes out before going to bed so the Kings can leave the presents there.

What is open and closed on 6 January?

Wednesday 6 January 2027, Epiphany, is a public holiday across Spain (BOE). What the official websites say:

  • La Lonja de la Seda: closed on 1 and 6 January (City Council).
  • Torres de Serranos: open, with holiday hours of 10:00 to 15:00 and free entry. They only close on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December (City Council).
  • Mercado Central: its website gives opening hours of Monday to Saturday, 7:30 to 15:00, and does not mention public holidays (Mercado Central). Check before you go.
  • Shops: the 2027 calendar of holiday opening days for the Valencia region has not been published yet.

For things to do that day, see the Valencia events calendar.

More Christmas in Valencia

Lights, the City Hall nativity scene, markets and New Year's Eve are in our Christmas in Valencia guide. Concerts and plans for those days are in the Valencia events calendar.

If you are coming for the parade, book a place to stay near the centre early, so you can walk there and back without worrying about the closures.
