Metro lines 3 and 5: the most practical option

Aeroport station is on the ground floor of the regional flights terminal, a short walk from arrivals. Both lines run to the centre via Àngel Guimerà, Xàtiva (next to Estació del Nord) and Colón (shopping area). Line 5 continues to the port (Marítim) and line 3 to Facultats and Rafelbunyol.

  • Price: single ticket for zone AB+, which includes the airport: €4.80. It is loaded onto a rechargeable SUMA card, which costs €1.10 (cardboard) or €2.20 (plastic).
  • Journey time: about 20 minutes to the centre.
  • Frequency: each line runs about every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
  • First and last train (line 3): Monday to Thursday 5:27 am to 10:32 pm; Fridays until 11:27 pm; Saturdays 5:47 am to 10:27 pm; Sundays and holidays 7:07 am to 10:47 pm.
  • First and last train (line 5): Monday to Thursday 6:21 am to 10:36 pm; Fridays until 11:36 pm; Saturdays 6:55 am to 11:35 pm; Sundays and holidays 7:35 am to 10:15 pm.
  • Late-night trains: on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays there are extra departures: 0:47 and 2:07 am on line 3, and 0:15, 0:55 and 1:35 am on line 5.
  • How to pay: at the station ticket machines. Validate on entry and exit.

Group tip: the SUMA 10 AB+ pass (10 trips) costs €7.50 until 31 December 2026 thanks to a temporary discount, and several people travelling together can use it at the same time. For three or four people it is far cheaper than single tickets. If you will be getting around all day, the SUMA T1+ (24 hours unlimited in AB+, airport included) costs €9. Children under 10 travel free with an adult holding a ticket, up to two per adult.

Bus 150 (Metrobus)

Metropolitan line 150 leaves from floor 0 of T1, at the arrivals exit, and enters Valencia via Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata. In the city it stops at Àngel Guimerà, Mercat Central (Avenida del Oeste) and Avenida Ramón y Cajal.

  • Price: €4.80, paid on board.
  • Journey time: around 45 minutes.
  • Frequency: every 20-30 minutes.

It is slower than the metro and costs the same. It is only worth it if you are staying right by one of its stops.

Taxi: official 2026 fares

The rank is in the arrivals area. The airport is in Manises, inside Valencia's taxi area, so the meter runs on the fares approved by the regional government in December 2025:

Fare When it applies Flag fall Per km
Fare 1 working days 7:00 am to 9:00 pm €2.00 €1.36
Fare 2 nights 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, Saturdays and holidays €2.60 €1.48
  • Minimum from the airport: €12.50. If the meter shows less, you pay the minimum.
  • Waiting or traffic jams: €24.95 per hour on fare 1 and €28.70 on fare 2.

The final amount depends on the exact address and the traffic. Always ask for a receipt.

Pre-booked private transfer

With a service such as Welcome Pickups you book before you travel: the driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals, with a fixed price paid in advance. According to the company, the price is equivalent to a taxi from the rank.

It is not worth it if you travel light and land in daytime: the metro is cheaper. It is worth it if you land after the last metro, travel with young children or lots of luggage, or are staying far from a station.

Which option suits you

  • Solo or as a couple, in daytime: the metro, no question.
  • Group of 3 or more with light luggage: the metro with a shared SUMA 10 AB+ pass (€7.50 until the end of 2026).
  • Landing after 11:00 pm on a weekday: the metro has closed or is about to. Taxi or pre-booked transfer.
  • Family with suitcases: taxi or private transfer, door to door.
  • Staying near Mercat Central: bus 150 may drop you closer, but it takes longer.
