The 2027 parade will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 5 January. The City Council has already named the Three Kings, but as of 20 October 2026 it has not published the start time or the route. What is the Three Kings Parade?

In Spain, Christmas presents are brought by the Three Kings, Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar, on the night of 5 to 6 January. On the eve they ride through town on floats, throwing sweets and small toys to the crowd. In Jerez the parade ends with the Kings' Adoration in front of the Belén Monumental nativity scene in the Alameda Cristina.

When is the Jerez Three Kings Parade 2027?

Date: Tuesday 5 January 2027, in the afternoon. The start time, the route and the number of floats have not been published. In 2026 the time and route were confirmed on 2 January, so the 2027 details should be out in late December or early January. We will update this guide then.

The 2027 Kings: hospitality businessman Alfredo Carrasco will be Melchior; teacher María del Carmen Tejero, head of the Nazareno brotherhood, will be Caspar; and businessman Joaquín Vallejo, head of the Rocío brotherhood, will be Balthazar. The Royal Postman will be Ángel Sáez, of the Divina Pastora de San Dionisio parish group. They were chosen by the City Council and the Jerez Three Kings Association (City Council, 24 Aug 2026) and presented at City Hall on 5 October (City Council).

2026 for reference (Monday 5 January):

  • Crowning: at 14:00 in the Alcázar. From there the Kings went to Ifeca (City Council).
  • Start: at 16:30 from Ifeca, through the main entrance of Parque González Hontoria. The council gave the hours as 16:30 to 21:00 (City Council).
  • Procession: 15 floats, almost 1,000 performers, 8 street troupes, two large mobile shows and four marching bands. The Oriental Guard on horseback led the way. 57 tonnes of sweets and toys were handed out (City Council, report).
  • Finale: the Adoration, at the doors of the Convento de Santo Domingo, at the foot of the Belén Monumental in the Alameda Cristina, with the Teatro Villamarta choir and flamenco singer Juan Peña.

Parade route

The 2027 route has not been published. The 2026 route, which the council called "the traditional route through the city centre" (City Council):

  1. Ifeca and the main entrance of Parque González Hontoria (start)
  2. Avenida Alcalde Álvaro Domecq
  3. Calle Sevilla
  4. Plaza del Mamelón
  5. Calle Guadalete
  6. Calle Ponce
  7. Calle Porvera
  8. Alameda Marqués de Casa Domecq
  9. Calle Larga
  10. Calle Lancería
  11. Plaza del Arenal
  12. Calle Corredera
  13. Plaza de las Angustias
  14. Calle Porvenir
  15. Calle Diego Fernández Herrera
  16. Calle Santa Rafaela María
  17. Calle Medina
  18. Calle Honda
  19. Calle Larga
  20. Belén Monumental, in the Alameda Cristina (finish)

Length and duration: 3,952 metres (City Council) and about four and a half hours, from 16:30 to 21:00. No times are published for each section.

2025 was different: because rain was forecast, the parade was moved forward to Saturday 4 January and left from the Taller de Fiestas workshop, as Ifeca was taken up by the Juvelandia children's fair. The route was shorter and the parade was due at the Belén Monumental around 21:00 (City Council).

Where to watch the parade

Using the 2026 route as a reference:

  • Avenida Alcalde Álvaro Domecq and Calle Sevilla: the first stretch. The parade passes here earlier than in the centre, so with small children you get home sooner.
  • Centre (Larga, Lancería, Arenal, Corredera): the most central stretch, with more atmosphere and bigger crowds.
  • Alameda Cristina: the finish. This is where you see the Adoration at the Belén Monumental, but the parade arrives late in the evening.
  • Reduced mobility: in 2026 there were three reserved areas along the route, including the door of the Iglesia de la Victoria and the Belén Monumental (City Council).
  • Quiet zone for autism and disability: in 2026 an area of Parque González Hontoria, where the parade starts, was reserved for autistic people and their immediate family and for disabled people. There was a single entrance, the Avenida de la Feria gate, controlled by private security, and you needed accreditation in advance from the council's Social Policy and Elderly Service. The council also mentioned "stretches with reduced sound" (City Council). The 2027 arrangements have not been published yet.
  • Following the parade live: in 2026 the council's 'Jerez Smart' app showed in real time where the Royal Postman and Three Kings parades were (City Council). The council's 2026 sponsorship plan also includes a live broadcast on Onda Jerez RTV (City Council).

If you want to stay near the route and walk back, find a place to stay in central Jerez.

Other parades and Three Kings events in Jerez

According to the mayor, Jerez "does not have just one parade, but 24": the one in the centre plus those organised by the self-governing local entities and the rural districts (City Council).

  • Rural districts: the parades in the fifteen rural districts and the hamlet of Cuartillos are split between the afternoon of 5 January and the morning of 6 January (City Council). The 2026 times could not be found. In 2024, for example, El Portal's parade left on the 5th at 17:00 and Cuartillos' on the 6th at 11:00 (City Council).
  • Self-governing local entities (such as Guadalcacín, La Barca de la Florida or El Torno): each publishes its own programme.
  • Royal Postman: his parade comes before the Kings'. In 2025 it left on Sunday 28 December at 17:00, from the Taller de Fiestas to the Alcázar, where he collects children's letters (City Council).
  • Royal Envoy Asad: before the parade he collects letters at the Jerez Zoo (City Council).

For more plans around those dates, see our Christmas in Jerez guide and the Jerez events calendar.

Buses, traffic and parking

The 2027 plan has not been published. In 2026:

  • Shuttle buses: the council's Mobility department ran two city shuttle bus lines, as during the zambomba season, and added vehicles to the regular lines. One ran from the Estadio Pedro Garrido car park (Hijuela de las Coles, South District) to the Alcázar, roughly every 20 minutes; the other from the Feria funfair grounds ('Cacharritos-Feria') to the Alameda Cristina, roughly every 15 minutes (City Council).
  • Days: the shuttles also ran on 2, 3, 4 and 5 January, and all standard tickets and passes were valid. Information on 900 859 775 (City Council) and on the Jerez city buses website.
  • Traffic: the Mobility department listed disruption along the route from 16:00 to 21:00 (City Council). It did not publish a list of closed streets or of diversions for each bus line.
  • Parking: the route passes through Plaza del Arenal and Calle Corredera, where the underground Arenal car park is. If you park there, allow for the closures when leaving. The shuttles leave from two parking areas outside the centre.

Tips for going with children

  • Keep away from the floats: the council asks parents to take extra care that children do not go up to the floats chasing sweets. Each float has staff watching for this, and local police and Civil Protection clear space when needed (City Council).
  • Arrive early, especially in the centre, and agree on a meeting point with the children in case you get separated.
  • Bring a bag for the sweets.
  • Rain: if rain is forecast, the council may change the day, the starting point and the route, as it did in 2025. Check the council's news on 3 and 4 January.

6 January: what is open and what is closed

Wednesday 6 January 2027, Epiphany, is a public holiday in Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía). In the morning children open their presents, and it is customary to eat roscón de Reyes, a ring-shaped sweet bread.

  • Shops: 6 January is not among the Sundays and holidays when shops are allowed to open in Andalusia in 2027; Sundays 3 and 10 January are (Junta de Andalucía). Town councils may swap up to two of those days.
  • Alcázar: its winter hours are 8:30 to 14:30 every day, with special hours over Christmas (City Council). Over Christmas 2024-2025 it closed on 4 and 5 January to prepare the Kings' crowning, and did not open on 6 January (City Council). The 2027 hours have not been published.
  • Cathedral: its visitor website gives Sunday hours of 13:00 to 19:00 and says nothing about public holidays (Jerez Cathedral).
  • Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art: its show starts at 12:00 and lasts about 90 minutes, but show days are listed in a separate calendar (Real Escuela). Check whether there is a show that day before you go.
  • Sherry bodegas, museums and buses: there are no joint official hours for 6 January. Check each place, and the Jerez city buses website for holiday timetables.
