A1 bus: airport - Palma centre
EMT Palma's A1 leaves from arrivals, floor 0 of the terminal. It is an airport-only line: you cannot use it for trips between city stops.
- Price: €5 single ticket.
- How to pay: cash when boarding (maximum change €10) or tap a debit or credit card on the reader, with no need to buy a ticket first.
- Frequency: every 15 minutes during the day.
- First and last bus: the first leaves at 5:30 am and the last at 3:10 am. After midnight it runs every 20 minutes until 1:15 am, then at 2:15 and 3:10 am.
- Stops in Palma: Palau de Congressos, Porta des Camp, Sindicat (Gabriel Alomar and Grans Magatzems), Plaça d'Espanya - Estació Intermodal (island trains and buses), Comte de Sallent and the end of the line on Passeig Mallorca (Instituts and Jaume III).
- Under-5s: free with an adult.
EMT does not publish a journey time: it depends on traffic.
What about line 21? It no longer goes to the centre. The line from the airport to the beach is the A2 (Aeroport - s'Arenal), also restricted to trips to or from the airport. The TIB interurban lines (A11, A32, A42 and A51) serve other parts of the island, not central Palma.

Taxi: official fares
The rank is at arrivals, floor 0. Always take a taxi from the signposted rank and turn down offers from drivers inside the terminal. Fares follow Decree 20/2025 for Mallorca:
| Item | Working days (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm) | Nights (9:00 pm to 7:00 am), Saturdays, Sundays and holidays |

| Per km | €1.20 | €1.35 |
| Waiting per hour | €19.40 | €21.40 |
- Minimum fare from the airport: €16.95. It includes flag fall, the airport supplement and the first 7 km.
- Airport or port supplement: €4.65, charged once per trip (already inside the minimum).
- Extra passengers: €3 for 5 or 6 people, €6 for 7 or 8.
- Free: luggage, pushchairs and wheelchairs are not charged.
- Christmas and New Year: €4.75 supplement from 24/12 at 9:00 pm to 25/12 at 9:00 pm, and from 31/12 at 9:00 pm to 1/1 at 9:00 pm.
- Card payment: it is one of the mandatory, free services.
Always ask for a receipt: you need it for any complaint.
Pre-booked private transfer
With a service such as Welcome Pickups you book before you travel: the driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals, with a fixed price paid in advance. According to the company, the price is equivalent to a taxi from the rank.
It is not worth it if you travel light and are heading to the centre: the A1 costs €5 at almost any hour. It is worth it in summer, when the taxi queue can be long, if you land after 3:10 am, travel with young children or are staying at a hotel outside Palma.
Which option suits you
- Solo or as a couple: the A1 bus. Check which stop is closest to where you are staying: Porta des Camp for the old town, Plaça d'Espanya for the station.
- Landing between 3:10 am and 5:30 am: no A1. Taxi or pre-booked transfer.
- Family with suitcases: taxi. Luggage is free and the minimum fare already covers 7 km.
- Group of 5 to 8: large taxi (€3 or €6 supplement) or a transfer with a larger vehicle.
- Staying outside Palma: pre-booked transfer or taxi. The A1 only serves the centre.
