In the Canary Islands a bus is called a guagua. Intercity buses such as the 60 are run by Global; city buses by Guaguas Municipales.
Bus 60: the cheapest way
Global's line 60 (Las Palmas de G.C.-Airport, direct) links the terminal with the city every day (official timetable).
- Airport stop: level 1, in the departures area, according to Aena.
- Timetable to Las Palmas: departures at 6:15 and 6:45, then at :15 and :45 past each hour until 20:45. After that, only at 21:15, 22:15 and 23:15.
- Fare: €2.30 to San Telmo bus station and €2.95 to Santa Catalina (Global).
- Paying on board: cash, or contactless bank card or phone (Global).
- Journey time: about 20 minutes to San Telmo and 30 to Santa Catalina, according to Global.
- Stops in the city: San Cristóbal, Lady Harimaguada, Teatro Pérez Galdós, San Telmo bus station (bay 9), Juan XXIII, Alcaravaneras and, at the end, Santa Catalina.
Line 91 (Puerto de Mogán-Las Palmas) also stops at the airport on its way to San Telmo and Santa Catalina, at the same fare, according to Global.
Where to get off: get off at San Telmo if you are staying in Triana or Vegueta, the historic centre, and stay on to Santa Catalina for Las Canteras beach or the port area. For the last stretch, city buses cost €1.40 for a single ticket (Guaguas Municipales).

Arriving at night
The last bus 60 leaves the airport at 23:15. Later on, some Global buses on lines 1 and 5, coming from the south of the island in the small hours on their way to San Telmo, stop at the airport. Global does not publish the time they pass the airport on its line pages: check Próximas guaguas (next buses) on its website or app, or take a taxi.
Taxi: fares according to Aena
The rank is on level 0, outside the terminal. Aena advises always taking a taxi from the signposted rank, avoiding drivers who offer rides elsewhere, and asking for a receipt in case you need to complain (Aena).
Taxis run on the meter. The fares published by Aena are:
| Fare | When it applies | Flag fall | Per km |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daytime | 6:00 to 22:00 | €3.85 | €1.35 |
| Night | 22:00 to 6:00 | €4.25 | €1.55 |
| Public holidays | 6:00 to 22:00 | €4.25 | €1.55 |
| Christmas | 24 and 31 December and 5 January, 22:00 to midnight | €6.54 | €1.55 |
- Airport supplement: €2.10.
- Waiting time: €18.50 per hour.
Aena does not give a fixed price to central Las Palmas: it depends on where you are going and on traffic.
Private transfer or hire car
With a private transfer booked before you travel, the driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals, at a price fixed in advance. It is not worth it if you travel light to Triana or Santa Catalina: bus 60 costs under €3. It is worth it if you are a group with suitcases or child seats, or land in the small hours with no direct bus.
If you plan to explore the island, you can pick up a hire car at the airport. For Las Palmas alone you do not need one: the centre is easy on foot and by bus.
Which option suits you
- Solo or as a couple, by day: bus 60. For under €3 you reach San Telmo or Santa Catalina.
- Landing after 23:15: taxi, unless a night bus on line 1 or 5 fits your time.
- Family with suitcases: taxi or private transfer.
- Touring the island: a hire car from the airport.
To have data as soon as you land, you can install an eSIM for Spain before you fly. And if you still need somewhere to sleep, look for a place to stay in Las Palmas.
