Federico García Lorca airport is 17 km from the centre, between Santa Fe and Chauchina. There is no train or metro to the terminal.

Bus 245 Granada-Airport

Line 245 is run by Alsa as part of the Granada metropolitan transport consortium. The stop is on floor 0, right outside arrivals, signposted "Autobuses / Bus". The terminal is small and you can see the shelter as soon as you walk out.

  • Price: single ticket €3.10. With the Consortium travel card, €1.62.
  • How to pay: on the bus itself (cash accepted) or in advance on the Alsa website or app, by card, PayPal or Apple Pay. Alsa warns that onboard sales depend on seats being available.
  • Timetable: it changes every week because it is timed to flights. From 12 to 18 October 2026, the first bus from the airport leaves between 8:55 and 9:10 am depending on the day, and the last at 11:15 pm. Alsa says the last bus leaves about 30 minutes after the last scheduled flight lands.
  • Journey time: about 45 minutes according to Aena and Alsa; the consortium timetable allows an hour to Palacio de Congresos.

Stops in Granada: Avenida de Andalucía, the bus station, Avenida de la Constitución (Triunfo), Gran Vía (Cathedral), Acera del Darro (Puerta Real) and the final stop at Palacio de Congresos. For the Albaicín or the old town, get off at Gran Vía or Puerta Real.

If your flight is delayed and you miss the bus, Alsa lets you change your ticket to the next service with free seats through "Manage your booking" or customer service.

Taxi: interurban fare

The airport is served by taxis from Chauchina and Santa Fe. As the trip to Granada leaves their municipality, the regional interurban fares apply, which for 2026 keep the 2025 amounts:

Fare When it applies Price per km Waiting per hour
Fare 7 working days Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 10:00 pm €0.71 €17.57
Fare 8 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and working days 10:00 pm to 6:00 am €0.82 €20.71

Good to know:

  • The return leg is charged: Andalusian rules treat interurban trips as a round trip back to the starting point unless agreed otherwise. That is why you pay more than the per-kilometre rate suggests.
  • Price guide: with 17 km each way and the return included, it comes to around €24 on fare 7 and €28 on fare 8, plus waiting time in traffic. This is our own calculation from the official fare: ask for the price before you get in.
  • Luggage is free: bags travel at no charge within the weight limits set by the rules.
  • Fares are maximums and can be lowered by mutual agreement. Drivers must carry change for up to €20 and display the fare table inside the car.

Pre-booked private transfer

In Granada a pre-booked transfer makes more sense than in other cities: the bus depends on flights and the taxi has no fixed price. With Welcome Pickups the driver tracks your flight, meets you at arrivals and the price is fixed and paid in advance.

It is worth it if your flight lands late or might be delayed, if you travel with family or lots of luggage, or if you are staying in the Albaicín or Realejo, where many streets are closed to cars and it helps if the driver knows how close they can get.

Which option suits you

  • Solo or as a couple, on a daytime flight: bus 245. It is cheap and drops you at Gran Vía or Puerta Real.
  • Landing on the last flight or delayed: the last bus waits for the last scheduled flight, but if yours is badly delayed, only taxis or pre-booked transfers are left.
  • Family with suitcases: taxi or transfer. Three or four bus tickets add up to €9.30 or €12.40; the taxi, at about €24-28, gets you closer.
  • Large group: book a transfer with a larger vehicle in advance, so you do not depend on whichever taxis are at the rank.
