Bus 6A: direct shuttle and stopping service

Line 6A Airport - Rúa do Hórreo (intermodal station) is part of Santiago's city bus network (Tussa). Since May 2026 it combines two kinds of service on the same ticket:

  • Direct shuttle: from the airport to the intermodal station (Hórreo) along the motorway, with no stops. It takes about 25-30 minutes and leaves the airport between 7:10 am and 10:20 pm, roughly hourly and sometimes twice an hour.
  • Stopping service: every 30 minutes from 6:30 am to 0:30 am, taking about 45 minutes to the intermodal station. It runs via San Marcos, San Lázaro, Santa Clara, San Roque, Praza de Galicia, Rúa da Rosa and the intermodal station. For the old town, get off at Praza de Galicia.

Between the two, there is a bus every 15-30 minutes in daytime.

  • Price: €1, the standard city bus fare. Buy it on the bus.
  • First and last bus: the first at 6:30 am and the last at 0:30 am.
  • Note: on the stopping service, from the airport you can only board up to the N634 CRTVG stop; in the city all stops are drop-off only.
  • Under-4s: free with an adult holding a ticket.

Taxi

The airport has a permanent taxi rank by the terminal. Turespaña states that the trip between central Santiago and the airport has a fixed fare of €23.

Aena does not publish taxi fares for this airport. Before getting in, check with the driver that the fixed price applies to your destination, and ask for a receipt when you arrive.

Heading to A Coruña or Lugo?

Monbus buses leave from the airport for A Coruña bus station and for Lugo (stopping at Arca, Arzúa, Melide and Palas de Rei, right on the Camino Francés). Check times and prices at monbus.es.

Pre-booked private transfer

With a service such as Welcome Pickups you book before you travel: the driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals, with a fixed price paid in advance. According to the company, the price is equivalent to a taxi from the rank.

In Santiago, with a €1 bus and a fixed-fare taxi, it adds little. It makes sense if you land after the last bus at 0:30 am, travel with young children, or are staying on a pedestrian street in the old town and want help getting there.

Which option suits you

  • Solo or as a couple: bus 6A. If you are staying in the old town, the stopping service drops you at Praza de Galicia; for the train or bus station, take the direct shuttle.
  • Landing after 0:30 am: no bus. Taxi or pre-booked transfer.
  • Family with suitcases: taxi. With a fixed fare you know the price in advance and go straight to the door, without dragging suitcases through the old town.
  • Pilgrims: if you are starting the Camino in Arzúa, Melide or Palas de Rei, the Monbus bus to Lugo leaves from the airport itself.
