Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport lies within the municipality of Elche, so a taxi to central Alicante charges the interurban fare.

C-6 bus: cheap and at any hour

The C-6 Alicante-Airport line is run by Vectalia. The stop is on the terminal's departures road.

  • Price: single ticket €4.70 since 24 July 2026. Over-65s €1.05. Large families €1.20 (general) or €0.75 (special).
  • 10-trip pass: €2 card plus €8.10 for a 10-trip top-up, discounted with national and regional funding. It is sold and topped up on board the line's buses. Worth it if you are coming back to the airport by bus.
  • Timetable: it runs 24 hours a day, every day. From the airport it leaves every 10-12 minutes in daytime, every 30 minutes at night (0:10, 0:40, 1:10 am... until 4:40 am), then there is a gap until 5:40 am.
  • Stops in Alicante: it crosses the centre, stopping at Luceros (TRAM connection), Alfonso X El Sabio and the train station, and ends at Puerta del Mar, by the seafront.
  • Handy detail: coming from the airport, you can stay on the bus to Alicante train station without getting off at Puerta del Mar.

Journey time depends on traffic: Vectalia does not publish it on the line's page.

Taxi: 2026 interurban fare

The rank is on the arrivals road. Official airport taxis have a green stripe from front to back and the Elche coat of arms on the doors. Radio Taxi Elche has a desk in arrivals, open 9:00 am to 1:00 am.

A trip to Alicante uses the Valencia region's interurban fare, updated in December 2025, plus the €4.25 airport supplement:

Fare When it applies Flag fall Per km
Ordinary working days (Saturdays included) 7:00 am to 9:00 pm €2.25 €1.46
Special 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, and all day on Sundays and holidays €2.80 €1.68
  • Waiting time: €19.00 per hour (ordinary) and €21.40 (special).
  • Payment: every taxi in the Valencia region must accept cards. If you pay cash, the driver must give change up to €50.
  • Price in advance: Radio Taxi Elche and Servitaxi Elche take bookings on their websites, and Radio Taxi Elche shows the price before you confirm.

Heading to Benidorm or elsewhere on the coast?

You do not need to go through Alicante. Alsa runs a direct, non-stop bus from the airport to Benidorm, plus lines to Altea, Calpe, Jávea, Dénia, Torrevieja, Murcia and Cartagena. Check times and prices at alsa.es or on Aena's page. A taxi to Benidorm also uses the interurban fare.

Pre-booked private transfer

With a service such as Welcome Pickups you book before you travel: the driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals, with a fixed price paid in advance. According to the company, the price is equivalent to a taxi from the rank.

It is not worth it if you travel light to central Alicante: the C-6 costs €4.70 at any hour. It is worth it if you are a group with suitcases or child seats, or are staying outside the city, in a residential estate or on the coast.

Which option suits you

  • Solo or as a couple: the C-6, day or night. This is Alicante's big advantage: there is a bus 24 hours a day.
  • Landing in the small hours: the C-6 leaves every 30 minutes. If you do not want to wait, take a taxi.
  • Family with suitcases: taxi or private transfer. With three or four people the gap with the bus narrows a lot.
  • Large group: book a transfer with a larger vehicle or take two taxis.
  • Staying on the Costa Blanca: Alsa's direct bus or a pre-booked transfer, without going through Alicante.
